Domestic Violence and Adult Mental Health Diagnoses
Shortly after a domestic violence incident, there are significant increases in mood, depression, sleep, and anxiety disorders (Bhuller et al., 2024). While mental health diagnoses tend to taper off after three years, victims experience a 35% jump in mental health diagnoses in the year an incident occurred.
